"There is no love more sincere than the love of food"... This is the quote found on the bag of each deliciously aromatic take out order from Carrabba's. And how true it is. For those of us that are so passionate about food, there are few pleasures in life dearer to our hearts than the smell of sauteing garlic, the sizzle of grilling steak, the crunch of fresh asparagus and the pure beauty of baked brie. Some may feel our obsession has reached problematic levels, but I must wholeheartedly disagree. Yes, I plan dinner before I've finished lunch, big deal. I daydream about recipes instead of my boyfriend. I could spend my whole paycheck on gourmet foods at those fancy, fresh, heavenly markets. But who are you to complain? If you've ever had the pleasure of dining with me, you know that I carefully build each fork-full individually to be as delectable and complex as I can; I savor each bite and I will give you a running commentary if you'll let me. If I feel you don't have the appropriate appreciation for food, I admit it, I will attempt to force my beliefs on you. You know you like it. Or at least you will, once I'm finished with you.
That said, I hope you enjoy the literary aspect of my food obsession. I'll be gushing on my favorite meals, maybe sharing a few recipes, pondering the many uses of the mushroom, going off on tangents... So thanks for reading and be prepared to get hungry!
